National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs)

NVQs are nationally recognised qualifications which give you credit for the work you are doing. Gaining an NVQ will help you move towards more responsibility and grow to achieve more senior posts in your chosen industry over time.

Administration (1)
Administration is concerned with paperwork involved in running a business office. This may include data input, letters, filing, photocopying and handling enquiries from customers and clients.
Advice and Guidance (IAG) (1)
These qualifications are primarily aimed at practitioners who work directly with clients, disseminating information, advice and varying levels of guidance dependant on the level of qualification.
Customer Service (1)
Customer Service is an area of work which forms part of most occupations. It involves how to manage relationships with customers, suppliers, other work colleagues and the improvement of the delivery of services and products.
Early Years Care (Children's Care, Learning and Development) (1)
These qualifications are about working with children to extend their knowledge and experience. This will typically be within a nursery, playgroup or childminding setting.
Health and Social Care (1)
These qualifications are designed for people who work with individuals to support and assist them with their phyical or emotional care, daily living needs or maintaining their independence.
Management (1)
If you are good at managing others, committed to personal development and learning, able to work under pressure and willing to be flexible then these courses at NVQ levels 3 and 4 could be for you.
Team Leading (1)
This qualification is at NVQ level 2. Throughout your learning an assessor will visit you in your workplace to ensure you are supported throughout your qualification.
Training and Development (A1 NVQ Assessor Award and V1 NVQ Internal Verifier Award) (1)
The A1 award is not a course, rather a competence assessment for those who are already involved in an NVQ Assessment Centre. You will receive individual coaching and support to put together a portfolio of evidence to prove your competence in NVQ assessment.

For the V1 award you will typically have held the A1 Assessor Award for at least one year. You will receive individual coaching and support to prove your competence in NVQ Internal Verification which includes managing the quality assurance process of a specific NVQ programme. You will provide support and guidance to assessors in your team and hold standardisation meetings.
