About Us

York Training Centre is a training provider which is also a part of the City of York Council. Based in central York and easily accessible, we offer a wide range of training courses and vocational training.

We work in partnership with a large number of employers and aim to raise awareness of the importance of skills development and training. This helps employers to develop their business through the retention of skilled staff.

Our work-based training activities enable us to support a range of participants, aged from 14 years, at all levels of personal and professional development. The range of our activities include:

Apprenticeships and Advanced Apprenticeships in a range of occupational areas;
E2E (level 1 Apprenticeships) designed to equip young people with the skills and knowledge they need to access of higher levels of education, training and work;
Private training for individuals and companies for vocational and personal development skills up to NVQ level 4;
'Train to Gain' for individuals looking a achieve a first full NVQ level 2 qualification;
Skills for Life opportunities for individuals to update and upgrade their numeracy and literacy skills and gain a qualification;
Schools Programmes for young people aged 14+ to gain practical experience and vocational training in the workplace.

Along with our site in York we also have a training base in Selby.
